I Can Get Ya Some Free White-Out Though.

I have been MIA, I know. I apologize. I worked close to 60 hours last week. Most of those hours were spent screaming at tiny girls in leotards. But we don't talk about my work here.

Last weekend the Tomato Whisperer was in town so we put him to work shoveling rocks in our backyard. We know how to treat our guests. That Tomato Whisperer - he's a trooper. He may never speak to us again but we got two good days of shoveling out of him. Have you ever spent two straight days shoveling rocks? If not, come on over to our house - there are more rocks to be shoveled and we don't want to keep all the fun for ourselves!

So you can see the progress that we made. Here's before:

All we needed was a few old washing machines and maybe a junked car and we'd be set.

Now, however...

Neat and tidy! Next we'll build the step around the deck (yes, we built a deck and didn't build the step to go with it at the time. Why? If you have a man's brain, maybe you know the answer to this question.) Then we'll lay the sprinklers and then...then? Then we'll get grass!

In other news, we now have 3 curtains! Someone mentioned in the comments that they had never before been to a blog where there were announcements about the number of curtains. I'm so cutting edge.

My laundry room curtain - it has roosters on it! Another masterpiece by Doug's mom. As you can see, there's 20 minutes left on the washing machine and those red cups...those are pong cups. We played 4 games last night. I won 3. We're having a beer pong tournament on July 19. Mark your calendars. We expect you all to be here.

I am so excited about your back yard. Maybe more excited than you are.

Those are some mighty fine cocks you've got there. (I couldn't help myself.)

Your backyard is coming along quite nicely.

We have the calendar marked, hopefully we can make it. I've played beer pong once now and I could definitely use some practice.

Beer pong and home improvement . . . you and I would be BFFs if we lived next door to each other.

Everytime I look at images of your back yard, I think Holy Smokes, they have to be bleeding money on that rockpile! It's looking good.
I have no clue what beer pong is, I'm so out of the loop.

Ooh beer pong, huh? So I must be getting old because I've never played and didn't even know what that was until I saw it on the last season of Big Brother. But I think I would be good!

I didn't learn beer pong until my junior year of college - 2002ish. Before that I'm not sure it was that popular so...don't worry - you're invited to our house to learn!

I have never played beer pong. The last time I had any alcohol at all was in October. I think you would kick my ass and make me shovel rocks.

big d ~ I wasn't meaning to say that beer pong was invented then...I just hadn't ever played it until college. I was trying to make the people who haven't ever played feel better, that's all!

I so wish I lived closer. I don't know how to play beer pong, but I would so cheer you on!

By the way, I love the posts about your curtains and such. All of us should have such vigor towards our lives!

The backyard looks awesome!!

And, if anyone ever complains about shoveling dirt, just tell them they are lucky they are not jack-hammering out the basement floor. I spent three days helping my brother remove his basement floor (jacking into little pieces, then carrying those pieces out to a truck).... It took me a while to talk to him again; my body was so freaking beat up... and I used to fight forest fires and log!!!

Now, I will never again joke about the road repair guys standing around a jack hammer just looking at it.

And...for what it is worth... I remember playing beer-pong back in my sophomore year of highschool, 1986.

I'm going to have to pass on the beer pong. It doesn't matter how much pre-drinking I do, I will never be able to convince myself that I should drink from a cup that just contained a ball that has spent half it's life on the gross, disgusting floor. Can't do it!

Oh, and BOOTY HOLE. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

go get that grass girl! and what is 'beer pong'?

ROFL I don't have rocks, but I've got the washers and a truck somewhere in a big pile! Not to mention...dryers, refrigerators, air conditioners... The brother's dismantle them for parts and for some reason the remnants never leave!

I wonder what's the finish would be like. Can't wait to see it.

Gotta ask a question. What's a beer pong? Have to educate myself on that.
